"The book is noted
on the cover as a 'food and wine lover's guide' and it delivers. The
tone is personal but informative, and the authors recommend specific
wines to try and menu items to order." |
Both fourth generation Californians, the Hills have lived in the heart of Northern California's wine country for 30 years and wake up each morning ecstatic to be alive to explore foods and wineries of the left coast. Kathleen and Jerry have written 25 books together, including several editions of their six Hill Guides, political and legal dictionaries, and an encyclopedia of the federal government. Their split personality interests go back to when Kathleen was a student of French literature, language and politics at the Sorbonne in Paris and talked her way into being the first person to audit courses at the Cordon Bleu. Together Kathleen and Jerry teach U.S. and comparative politics at universities in California and British Columbia, adding to their excuses to "research" every nook and cranny from Santa Barbara, California to Naramata, British Columbia.
